IN OTHER ADOPTION NEWS . . .
Pastor Vicki Kemper (Belchertown, MA) lost her beloved collie, Emmylou, last August. She'd had 13 years with her faithful companion, so the grieving process wasn't easy. When Vicki decided to bring another dog into her life, she turned to PetFinder to help her find a perfect match. This had to be a special dog, because, as Vicki's daily companion, the dog would travel with her as she did her work for her church. Missy, a Border Collie pup, featured on our PetFinder site looked to be a most worthy candidate for the job of helping to 'herd the flock' at the First Congregational Church.
At that time, we were unable to get Missy all the way to Massachusetts, so Vicki took off on the 1,230 mile round trip to Philippi, WV to bring her new best friend home She told us that she took some time to meet up with old friends along the route, and her friend, Mary, joined the adventure in Hagerstown, MD.
We've heard from Vicki and she tells us that Missy, now named Scout, made the trip home without incident and has already gone to work---meeting and greeting the church members, and finding her way into their hearts.
Vicki tells us that Scout has brought much joy into her life and she wants to thank us for bringing the two of them together.
We often speak of 'matches made in heaven' when we feel that we've been able to bring a special person together with a special pet, and this is most certainly one of those matches!
We wish them both many, many years of love and happiness!
Our Adoption Day Event at the Uniontown PetSmart
on March 13, 2010 was a really big success---as can be seen in
the following photos.
Brandon Jordan's daughters, Tia, Torry and Kamryn,
fell in love with Tina and took her home to
New Salem, PA.
Billie Jean Kovalcheck of Carmichaels, PA brought her best friend Bindi to the
Adoption Event so that Bindi could
pick out her own best friend. Bindi chose
little Robin, who looks remarkably
like Bindi herself!
Poppy was adopted by Beth Porterfield (Lemont Furnace, PA). It looks like
Beth's son, Seth, and Poppy will
be friends for life!
Gretchen Bodnar of Mt. Pleasant, PA fell
in love with little Lattie. Gretchen
works as a groomer for PetSmart so
we know Lattie will always be
squeaky clean!
Sally Fulmer first saw Lucas on our
PetFinder website. He captured her
heart, so she drove from her home in
Frederick, MD to meet him in person.
Looks like they're going to have a
wonderful life together!
Stephanie and Lexi Georgiana of

named Jilliboo) would fill the bill
